We are running a fun afternoon to raise funds for St Osmund's church.
The church heating is broken and we need to raise around ÂŁ15,000 for a replacement!
Saturday 9th of August, 12 noon - 4pm
Osmington Village Hall
In January 2024, St Osmund’s Church oil boiler failed beyond repair, leaving it unheated during the coldest months.
Despite temporary measures, this caused discomfort during services and damage to furnishings and the historic structure.
As shown in the images, the existing boiler sits in a sunken room about 600mm below ground, where frequent standing water
and poor drainage have contributed significantly to its deterioration.
Approval has been granted for a new HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) boiler, a cleaner, more sustainable solution.
It will be installed above ground with modern controls and frost protection to prevent future issues.
Work is underway, aiming for completion before winter, to restore protection to the building's fabric and warmth to all visitors.

We're all pulling together as a community to help raise funds directly for the church boiler.
